We are looking for an Automated Equipment Mechanic (AEM) to support the Advanced Materials and Chemicals Division in Rochester, NY.
Responsibilities:
• AEM skilled trade to provide multi-discipline capability to repair, maintain, install, and make improvements to chemical processing equipment and machinery (includes pneumatics, hydraulics, controls (PLC’s), and electrical components)
• Ability to fabricate to exact tolerances using lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other shop equipment
• Some experience or expertise in piping, HVAC equipment and controls
• Ability to achieve a high level of expertise of chemical process equipment for effective troubleshooting and equipment repair
• Execute preventive maintenance program
• Calibrate, alignment and make adjustments with test equipment and production equipment
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and maintenance software tools
Qualifications include:
• HS diploma
• Formal instrumentation, electrical, mechanical, and/or AEM training and demonstrated experience
• Mechanical equipment repair training and/or demonstrated experience: pumps, mechanical seals, agitators, gear boxes, fans (bearings, sheaves), alignment
• Demonstrate effective analytical troubleshooting skills
• Able to read electrical, instrument and machine drawings
• Able to read PLC programs to troubleshoot equipment problems
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
• Excellent safety record – places safety and environment as top priority in all work
• Knowledge of Lock Out / Tag Out
• Understanding of electrical codes for hazardous environments (flammable liquids)
• Good communication skills – daily communications with maintenance planner, technical staff and operations as needed
• Good team player – willing be flexible, work in other areas and with other trades as needed
Minimum Education Level and Experience:
2-year schooling and/or 5 plus years of demonstrated experience
Work Schedule:
• Work schedule will be days initially and during shutdowns
• Rotating Shift: 5-week rotations 4 times per year. Two, 12-hour days followed by two 12-hour nights, then 4 days off. Includes additional shift allowance pay
